Join us at The Rockwell Museum’s 50th Anniversary Block Party—your destination for art and community since 1976!

Saturday, September 19 | 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.

Free and open to the public
Locations: The Rockwell Museum, KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab, and the intersection of Market Street and Cedar Street

Art lovers of all ages are invited to The Rockwell @ 50 Block Party, during Downtown Corning’s Harvest Fest. This free, day-long celebration takes over the Museum and Art Lab with activities for all ages, including:

  • Free Rockwell tote to the first 500 visitors with the opportunity to collect up to 6 commemorative patches to put on your tote
  • Artemus Birthday Hat Project + Selfie Station 
  • Magician’s Kitchen cookie giveaway for the first 150 visitors

Alley Art Project Tour

10 a.m.

Led by Amy Ruza, Educator for Visitor Engagement and Public Programs, this guided walking tour will explore six Alley Art Project murals on Corning’s Northside. Enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee provided by Ella’s Acres at the start of the tour!

Community Collaborative Creation: Anniversary Artist Book with Anna Warfield

10 a.m. – 4 p.m. | Hourly

Fiber artist Anna Warfield will host a series of 45-minute, hands-on community workshops in which participants look at and respond to preselected artwork from the Museum’s collection.

11 a.m. 

Led by Amanda Lett, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions, guests will get an up-close look at selected works from the permanent collection that tell the story of the Museum’s evolution.

Proclamation of 50th Anniversary Legislative Resolution

11:30 a.m. 

Assemblyman Phil Palmesano and Senator Tom O’Mara will present The Rockwell Museum 50th Anniversary Legislative Resolution.

Dance Reframed: Movement in Response to Art

12 p.m. & 2 p.m. 

This curated street performance features four contemporary dance artists from Western New York, each responding to an object from the Museum’s permanent collection.

Director's Choice Tour

1 p.m.

Join Executive Director Erin M. Coe for a personal tour of the special exhibition Rockwell Reframed: Director’s Choice. This exhibition brings together a diverse selection of works from the collection that span a range of artists, media, and historical moments.

Market Street History Tour

3 p.m. 

Led by Meghan O’Toole, SFLX 2025 Artist Fellow and Arts Practitioner, participants on this guided walking tour will learn about the buildings, styles, and stories that have shaped this historic streetscape for more than a century, from the Gilded Age through the present day.

Live Music with Doc Possum

3 – 5 p.m.

Enjoy Doc Possum’s melodic, high-energy original songs alongside covers ranging from The Beatles to Jimi Hendrix. A Nashville/ Memphis recording artist, he is a familiar face at schools, libraries, museums, festivals, and a frequent performer at the Corning Museum of Glass’s Little Gather concert series.
