Starting location: Meet in front of Ella’s Acres, 36 Bridge Street, Corning
Led by Amy Ruza, Educator for Visitor Engagement and Public Programs
This guided walking tour will explore six Alley Art Project murals on Corning’s Northside. Please wear comfortable shoes and plan to walk! The Alley Art Project is a long-running partnership between The Rockwell Museum and the High School Learning Center of the Corning-Painted Post Area School District, with recent collaborations including SUNY Corning Community College. Since 2010, the project has brought guest artists together with area high school and college students to design and paint murals inspired by works in The Rockwell’s collection, cultivating pride, civic engagement, and connection to the Corning community. The tour will highlight the stories behind each mural masterpiece and the students who created them, along with the works of art that inspired them.
Enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee provided by Ella’s Acres at the start of the tour!
