Dance Reframed: Movement in Response to Art is an outdoor performance event celebrating The Rockwell Museum’s 50th anniversary and its 2026 theme of reframing art for the future. This curated street performance features four contemporary dance artists from Western New York, each responding to an object from the Museum’s permanent collection. Presented as a one-hour series of back-to-back solos and duets, each artist choreographed a new piece or adapted a repertoire to translate visual art into movement. Rooted in the ongoing dialogue between contemporary dance and fine art, the performance celebrates creativity, connection, and reimagined ways of experiencing art in community.
