High School Learning Center | Identity and the Artist Performance

Please join us for an afternoon of masks, music, movement, and monologues! This culminating event of a special multi-media art program gives students an opportunity for self-reflection and community-building with their peers, teachers, professional artists and musicians. 

Each year, students use The Rockwell’s art collection to serve as inspiration to create papier-mâché masks and write personal monologues. The holistic creative process encourages students to build meaningful relationships and incorporate nature-themed metaphors and symbols into their art connected to their identities. Students will read their monologues while their classmates interpret their masks through movement, accompanied by live music.
