Our Summer Explorers self-guided program is designed for families and children ages 5 – 12. Drop in anytime to participate in artmaking workshops and gallery activities that encourage families to play with color and engage with art. New themes, projects, and activities will be offered each week.
This week’s Summer Explorers program includes:
- Make a fun, stenciled tote bag inspired by the colors and textures of impressionistic painting. Use “positive” or “negative” space stencils to create a variety of designs on your practical, usable work of art.
- Spy, Think, Ponder art card sets highlight works of art in The Rockwell’s collection, tied to the weekly theme. The art cards incorporate youth-friendly language and fun prompts to engage your child’s imagination.
- Art Hunts are a great way to search the Museum galleries and find details in the artwork.
- Simple gallery games available on the Art Cart in the galleries will stimulate self-guided exploration with loved ones to foster art appreciation and museum exploration.
