Our Summer Explorers self-guided program is designed for families and children ages 5 – 12. Drop in anytime to participate in artmaking workshops and gallery activities that encourage families to play with color and engage with art. New themes, projects, and activities will be offered each week.
The Summer Explorers program includes:
- Guest artist Tori Riina will guide visitors through the monotype process with a variety of printmaking materials. Each visitor will create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece inspired by artwork in the summer exhibition Rockwell Refracted.
- Spy, Think, Ponder art card sets highlight works of art in The Rockwell’s collection, tied to the weekly theme. The art cards incorporate youth-friendly language and fun prompts to engage your child’s imagination.
- Art Hunts are a great way to search the Museum galleries and find details in the artwork.
- Simple gallery games available on the Art Cart in the galleries will stimulate self-guided exploration with loved ones to foster art appreciation and museum exploration.
