The Laramie Project

Thursday, October 12, 2023

7:00 pm - 9:15 pm

Location: The Rockwell Museum

Southern Finger Lakes (SoFLX) Pride presents The Laramie Project, a play by Moises Kaufman and The Tectonic Theatre Project to be performed at The Rockwell Museum.

The Laramie Project is directed by Community Based Arts Practitioner Meghan O’Toole.

This powerful play about the violent hate crime and murder of Mathew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming in 1998 allows communities to talk about homophobia and intolerance of all kinds in their own towns. The performance dates align with both National Coming Out Day on October 11 and the 25th anniversary of Matthew Shepard’s murder on October 12. Through this special presentation, SoFLX Pride seeks to connect our small community with the greater national conversation of tolerance on this important anniversary and how we are addressing the needs of our LGBTQ+ community in our region.

Ticket fees for students and youth are a donation of any amount. Tickets for adults/seniors are $25. Rockwell Museum Members are $20.

This project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.
