Summer Explorers: Printed and Collaged Tote Bags

Our Summer Explorers self-guided program is designed for families and children ages 5 – 12. Drop in anytime to explore the Museum galleries. Participate in artmaking workshops and gallery activities that encourage families to create connections and engage with art. New themes, projects and activities will be offered each week.

Summer Explorers activity schedule:

  • July 2 & July 9: Printed and Collaged Tote Bags
  • July 16 & July 23: Felting with Rainbow Fibers
  • July 30 & August 6: Marble Painted Masterpieces
  • August 13 & August 20: Put a Dog on It: Life-sized Weimaraner Collages

The Summer Explorers program includes:

  • Artmaking workshops with Rockwell Educators will be available to family visitors at the KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab.
  • Spy, Think, Ponder art card sets highlight works of art in The Rockwell’s collection, tied to the weekly theme. The art cards incorporate youth-friendly language and fun prompts to engage your child’s imagination.
  • Art Hunts are a great way to search the Museum galleries and find details in the artwork.
  • Simple gallery games available on the Art Cart in the galleries will stimulate self-guided exploration with loved ones to foster art appreciation and museum exploration.
