Visit the KIDS ROCKWELL Art Lab to try your hand at playing an instrument during Corning’s Make Music Day event organized by Marich Music. An assortment of non-traditional and electronic musical instruments will be set out for children to experiment with sound, rhythm and beats. All instruments are generously provided by Marich Music for this global celebration where everyone is invited to join and play music. Experimental instruments include:
- Noise Toaster (self-contained synthesizer)
- Weird sound generator (synth box)
- Slapsticks (w/ amp & delay pedals)
- Handsonic HPD-10 digital hand drum
- Yamaha Finger Drum Box
- Orba 2 Synth
- Roland Gaia Analog Synthesizer
- Korg Monotron Delay (Battery ribbon synth)
- iPad w/Kaossilator
Make Music Day will happen from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. in downtown Corning and will feature numerous musical performances and interactive experiences for people of all ages! Opening and closing ceremonies will be located at Centerway Square at 11 a.m. and 8 p.m.
