    The Rockwell believes in advancing the desire of our founding collectors, Bob and Hertha Rockwell, to make the collection accessible to as many people as possible. We wish to reach all audiences in meaningful ways through a commitment to authentic educational and cultural experiences.

    That’s why we’re pleased to offer free admission all week in honor of the birthday of The Rockwell’s Founding Collector, Robert “Bob” F. Rockwell, Jr.

    Housed within the Old City Hall building of Corning, this diverse collection includes a mix of nineteenth-century American paintings, historic bronzes, and Indian artifacts as well as twentieth-century modernists, illustration art, and contemporary photography.

    Curated by guest artists, Steven and William Ladd, the 40th Anniversary show exhibits a little bit of everything from The Rockwell collection.

    Every year, November 8, we celebrate Founder’s Day – the birthday of our founding collector, Bob Rockwell. Bob’s desire to make the collection accessible to as many people as possible remains a guiding principle. This year, we’ll celebrate Founder’s Day with a week-long open house celebration that includes November 13the day The Rockwell Museum opened 40 years ago. 

    • Free admission all week long, to all ages
    • Enjoy special activities in the Family Exploration Studio throughout the week
    • Explore the art of looking with The Rockwell’s special 40th Anniversary Exhibit, curated by celebrity guests artists Steven and William Ladd
