    Remarks at 5:15 p.m.

Free and open to family and friends of HSLC students. Refreshments will be served.

Join us as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Alley Art Project! This year, student designers draw inspiration from The Rockwell Museum’s collection of Frederick Carder Steuben glass, honoring the 150th anniversary of glassmaking in Corning. Students researched six major local industries to incorporate the rich history of glass and the region into the 2018 mural design. Painting of the 2018 mural will begin in August.

This student exhibit opening reception will unveil the 2018 mural design, and celebrate the completion of the 2017 mural, The High School Learning Center Family: What is Family to You? The exhibition will remain on view through September 9, 2018.

This project is made possible in part by grants from The Triangle Fund, The Great Circle Foundation Inc. and William G. McGowan Charitable Fund.

    About the Alley Art Project

The Alley Art Project is a result of a decade-long partnership between The Rockwell and the High School Learning Center of the Corning-Painted Post Area School District. The program supports students in learning about art, design and the research associated with the process of art making – all the while cultivating a sense of pride, ownership and connection to the community. Students fulfill their mandatory Art credit through their work at The Rockwell.
